The Pryor Fire Department serves a primary response district consisting of 75 square miles in and around the City of Pryor Creek. We provide protection for approximately 15,000 permanent residents and average over 1,400 calls per year.  The Department’s operational yearly budget is over $1 million.

Staffing for the agency is currently comprised of 12 paid and 11 volunteer firefighters, with 20 volunteer positions. The department provides fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous materials response, technical rescue activities and EMS services for the citizens of Pryor Creek and the surrounding area. Apparatus inventory includes three pumpers, one rescue, one 75’ aerial truck, three brush trucks, two tankers, one support truck, two rescue boats, hazmat trench/rescue trailer and two command vehicles. A wide array of mission-specific equipment is carried on each of these vehicles.  Pryor Creek has two fire stations.  The main station (Station 1) is located at 833 South Elliott at the corner of 9th & Elliott and is manned 24 hours/day.  Station 2 is unmanned and is located at 34 N. Adair.

The Pryor Fire Department improved their community’s Public Protection Class by receiving an impressive ISO re-classification of 4 in 2009. This rating puts the Pryor Fire Department in the top 5% of fire departments in Oklahoma for Public Protection Classification.

Pryor Fire Department has 9 Fire Service Instructors that have went through extensive training at Oklahoma State University Fire Service Training to become certified instructors.   Pryor Fire Department has a monthly training program, where our instructors teach various classes to help keep our firefighters up to date on the most recent training information available.  



FIREWORKS: (sec 5-4C-2)

☐ Residential and Commercial fireworks require the purchasing of a City permit which can be obtained at City Hall, 12 N Rowe, 2nd floor. Public fireworks displays must be passed and approved by City Council

☐ Fireworks is prohibited within Pryor Creek City limits except on July 3rd & July 4th, between the hours of 9:00 AM to 11:59 PM on each side of said dates and shall not be discharged within twenty five feet (25’) of any permanent structure or within five hundred fee (500’) of any church, hospital, school, public park, or where fireworks are stored or sold.

☐ No person under the age of eighteen (18) shall engage in the use of residential fireworks unless under the supervision of an adult person over 18 years of age with a valid residential fireworks permit

☐ It is illegal to ignite or discharge any fireworks within or from a motor vehicle or into or at a motor vehicle or at or near any groups of people

☐ Burn permits are issued for the open burning of trees, brush, shrubs and limbs solely for the purpose of land clearing. Approved burn permits are valid for a period of ten (days). Section 4-5-8   Burn Guidelines
